Cal Poly men’s soccer team loses to Loyola Marymount in exhibition match

The Cal Poly men’s soccer team allowed a second-half goal in a 1-0 loss to Loyola Marymount in an exhibition match Sunday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.

Maurice Morton scored in the 72nd minute off a feed from Garrett Amador for the Lions.

Mustangs goalkeeper Simon Boehme had two saves in the loss.

Cal Poly outshot Loyola Marymount 10-6, but only one shot was on target. Jack O’Connor hit the crossbar with a free kick in the 75th minute for the Mustangs.

Cal Poly opens the regular season Friday at No. 8 North Carolina.
