Senior defender Ruben Duran’s 68th-minute goal gave the White squad a 1-0 victory over the Green in the Cal Poly men’s soccer team’s intrasquad tuneup Sautrday.
Duran, an all-Big West Conference second-team selection, was played in by freshman forward Sebastian Herran and beat freshman goalkeeper Phillip Martin for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Green threatened early but was unable to capitalize when junior forward Kaba Alkebulan hit the crossbar in the 16th minute. Four minutes later, Alkebulan hit post again before being cleared away by White.
Martin finished the game with three saves in 25 minutes for the Green side, while junior goalkeeper Eric Kam recorded one for the White team.
