The Cal Poly baseball team salvaged the final game of its three-game series with a 6-4 win over UC Riverside on Sunday in Riverside.
The Mustangs (30-24, 10-11 Big West Conference) trailed 3-0 going into the top of the sixth inning, but rallied for two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. After the Highlanders (24-28, 10-11 Big West) tied the score in the bottom of the seventh, the Mustangs added single runs in the eighth and ninth inning to stop an eight-game conference road losing streak.
Kevin Morgan had three hits and scored twice, Kyle Marinconz had two hits and two RBI, Alex McKenna had two hits and scored twice and Michael Sanderson had two hits and a run for Cal Poly, which has 12 hits as a team.
Justin Calomeni pitched 5 1/3 innings in relief, allowing two earned runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out five.
