Cal Poly baseball team drops another series on the road with loss to UC Riverside

The Cal Poly baseball team lost its second game in a row in Riverside — their eighth consecutive conference road loss — falling to the Highlanders 11-5 on Saturday.

UC Riverside (24-27, 10-10 Big West Conference) scored seven runs in the fourth inning.

Erich Uelmen (5-2) allowed seven runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings for Cal Poly (29-24, 9-11 Big West).

Michael Sanderson had three hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Mustangs. Josh George added two hits and a run.

The series concludes Sunday.
