The Cal Poly softball team completed a weekend sweep of Long Beach State with a 1-0 win Sunday in Long Beach.
Lindsey Chalmers (8-9) threw a five-hit shutout. She struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Makenna Young provided all the offense Chalmers would need, singling home Courtney Tyler in the sixth inning.
Stephanie Heyward, Amanda Sandoval, Betsy Colburn and Chelsea Convissar also had hits for Cal Poly (19-17, 3-6 Big West Conference).

Rachel Loera had two hits for Long Beach State (24-16, 4-5 Big West).

Cal Poly at Big West championship
The Mustangs led the Big West Conference Championship by three strokes after the first round of play Sunday in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Desiree Gillaspy was tied for third place at 2-over 74.
Paige Lee of UC Davis is the individual leader at even-par 72. Long Beach State’s Haley Tygret was second at 1-over 73.
Cal Poly had a 17-over 305 total, ahead of UC Riverside, Long Beach State and UC Davis, all of which were at 308.
Sophie Bergland is tied for ninth place after a 76, and Madison Hirsch is tied for 12th place with a 77 for Cal Poly. Jamie Harada is in 15th place after a 78.
