Biba Kirschner and Maci Branstetter scored 10 points apiece to lead the Cuesta College women’s basketball team during at 53-48 loss to Oxnard on Wednesday night at Cuesta Gym.
Kirschner, a former San Luis Obispo High standout, went 4 of 8 from the field and grabbed three rebounds for the Cougars, who dropped to 6-14 overall and 1-3 in the Western State Conference.
Mission Prep graduate Connor Storlie added six points, seven rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes.
Oxnard (10-6, 3-1 WSC) was led by Karrie Franklin’s 16-point, eight-rebound performance. Juliette Marquez, who averages a team-high 16.2 points per game, scored 11 in the victory.
Cuesta goes on the road to play Allan Hancock at 3 p.m. Saturday.
