The Cal Poly women’s basketball team completed its three-game road trip Monday afternoon with an 80-43 loss to No. 11-ranked Oregon State at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore.
Junior forward Hannah Gilbert scored 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Mustangs (6-6), who lost their third consecutive game after winning four straight. Senior guard Beth Balbierz also scored 11 points for Cal Poly.
The defending Pac-12 Conference champion Beavers led 36-17 at halftime and used a 23-3 run to put the game away in the third quarter. Junior Gabriella Hanson scored a game-high 19 points to lead three Oregon State players in double figures. Jamie Weisner added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Marie Gulich finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Playing a team with seven players listed at 6-foot-3 or taller, the Mustangs struggled to find their rhythm offensively. They finished the game shooting 21.5-percent from the field and missed all nine of their 3-point attempts.

Cal Poly will conclude its nonconference schedule against Sacramento State at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 inside Mott Athletics Center. The Mustangs begin Big West Conference play Jan. 7 at UC Santa Barbara.
