The Cal Poly men’s swimming and diving program beat UC Santa Barbara 154.5-107.5, while the women lost 143-137 at the Anderson Aquatic Center on Saturday.
The men’s side won eight of 13 events, led by junior Caleb Davies, who won both the 50-yard freestyle in 20.89 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 46.22. Sophomore Pearu Pold also won the 1,000 freestyle in 9:32.77 and the 500 freestyle in 4:32.22. The Cal Poly relay team won the 400 free in 3:03.75, behind Davies, Jack Jenner, Dominik Folkener and Dominic Dalpaiz combined for the victory.
The team of Mickey Mackle, Davies, Dalpiaz and Brian Whittington won the 200 medley in 1:32.52 for the Mustangs.
For the women, the Mustangs won seven of the 13 events, with Sage Speak leading the way, with a 200 breaststroke win in 2:17.30 and a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.65. Meghan Marlihan won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:21.61 and Alisha Bender won the 200 free (1:51.85) for Cal Poly. Senior Belen Enguidanos was first in the 200 fly (2:03.62) and Bonnie Diamond won the 500 free in 5:00.91.
