Cal Poly volleyball team downs UC Santa Barbara

Raeann Greisen had 14 kills and Taylor Nelson added 42 assists in the Cal Poly volleyball team’s 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 win over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday evening at the Thunderdome.

Savannah Nieman had 12 kills and Nicole Kessler had a match-high 22 digs for the Mustangs. Taylor Gruenewald had 10 kills and Nelson added 15 digs.

Cal Poly improves to 16-5 overall and 8-2 in the Big West Conference, and have the program’s best 21-game start since 2006 and best Big West start since 2008.

The Gauchos fall to 6-15 and 2-9 in conference play.

The Mustangs will host UC Irvine 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
