The Cal Poly women’s soccer team lost 4-0 to rival UC Santa Barbara on the road Thursday night, the Mustangs' fifth road game in their past six contests.
The Gauchos scored in the 13th minute, when Kate Shoemaker headed in a Dakota Griggs corner kick.
The Gauchos wouldn’t score again until the second half, when Mallory Hromatko scored on a cross from Savannah Francis in the 68th minute. The Gauchos added to their lead in the 76th minute, when Hannah Dearborn found Jessica Parque in front of the goal with an empty net. Dearborn was assisted by Parque in the 79th minute for the final goal.
Cal Poly (5-6-5, 1-4 Big West) will take on UC Irvine at home Friday at 7 p.m.
