Cal Poly tennis finishes play at three tournaments

Cal Poly’s Corey Pang won two matches Sunday to win the consolation draw at the Battle in the Bay on Sunday in San Francisco.

Pang defeated Alex Hamilton of Pacific, 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (11-9).

Pang and Ben Donovan won the consolation draw doubles as well, beating UCLA’s Ryoto Tachi and Michael Guzman, 8-3.

In addition, Donovan lost in the consolation singles semifinal to UCLA’s Austin Rapp, 6-2, 7-6.

Also, at the UCSB Classic in Santa Barbara, Cal Poly’s Garrett Auproux finished seventh in the top singles flight Sunday.

Auproux downed Fresno State’s Kartik Nakireddi, an All-Mountain West Conference player last season, 6-3, 6-3.

Auproux and Lucas Lesoeur teamed up to win third in the doubles flight, topping Fresno State’s Adam Glynn and Euan McIntosh, 8-7 (10-8).

Cal Poly’s Naveen Beasley and Axel Damiens took third in Flight C doubles.

Cal Poly at ITA Northwest

The Mustangs’ doubles team of Emily Gibbens and Zoe Oedekerk was eliminated Sunday in the round of 16 in Stanford.

Cal’s Lynn Chi and Karla Popovic, the seventh-seeded pair, defeated Gibbens and Oedekerk 8-1.
