Megan Abutin scores twice to lead Cal Poly women to soccer win

Megan Abutin scored two goals and the Cal Poly women’s soccer team beat San Francisco 3-1 on Sunday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.

Elise Krieghoff opened the scoring in the 24th minute, corralling a pass from Katarina Drake and finishing into the upper-right corner.

It was her 10th goal of the season and the 42nd of her career, three shy of the school record.

Abutin scored in the 49th minute off an assist by Emily Hansen. She scored again in the 89th minute, set up by Lydia Anderson.

Alyssa Giannetti made a season-high eight saves for Cal Poly (5-6-0).

She had 254 saves, 53 behind the program-record 307 set by Kristina Grigaitis from 1993-96.

Amanda Whittle scored for San Francisco (4-5-2).
