Cal Poly softball team loses to Pacific

The Cal Poly softball team managed just six hits in a series-deciding 3-1 loss to Pacific on Sunday at Bob Janssen Field.

Pacific scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. Kim Westlund hit a solo homer for Cal Poly (16-22-1,5-4 Big West) in the sixth inning but that was all the offense the Mustangs would muster.

Chloe Wurst allowed seven hits and three runs — two earned — for Cal Poly. Mustangs catcher Mariah Cochiolo had two hits.

Nikki Armagost gave up six hits and a run while striking out seven for Pacific (22-18,7-2).
