Led by individual tournament champion Camden Price, the Cal Poly men’s golf team edged College of Charleston by one stroke to capture the team title at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah on Tuesday.
Price, a freshman, outlasted Charleston’s Zach Munroe and Utah State’s Tanner Higham in a six-hole playoff, shooting par on all six to claim his first individual collegiate title for the Mustangs.
Price totaled a 142 in regulation over the two-day tournament, helping
Cal Poly to a team score of 584, one better than Charleston and two ahead of Dixie State.

Denver was fourth at 591, Utah Valley was fifth at 592, and Seattle and Utah State totaled 594 to finish in a tie for sixth.
Justin Haley and Cole Nygren each shot a 147 to tie for 12th place for the Mustangs, and Scott Patterson shot a 148 to tie for 17th.
