Cal Poly volleyball teams gets first win under new coach Crosson

The Cal Poly volleyball team narrowly edged Idaho at home on Thursday night, defeating the Vandals 25-27, 25-23, 25-18, 16-25, 15-9.

It was the first win for first-year coach Sam Crosson at Cal Poly.

True freshman Maddie Kuber led the Mustangs (1-3) with 15 kills, 30 assists and 10 digs. Another true freshman, Nicole Kessler, led Cal Poly with 35 digs.

Kate Walters had a team-high 31 assists and five digs, Holly Franks had 17 kills and Molly Pon added 12 for the Mustangs.

Cal Poly returns to action Sunday when it plays Northeastern at UC Santa Barbara.
