College Roundup: Cal Poly's Keddy earns another volleyball honor

Cal Poly junior Jennifer Keddy was named to the AVCA all-West Region team Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Keddy was named the Big West Conference Player of the Year after averaging over four kills per match and finishing the season in the top 10 in three categories.

Former Paso Robles star Rountree shines

Former Paso Robles High standout Tess Rountree finished her freshman Division III volleyball season ranked nationally in the top 10 for kills (560) and points scored (671) for Prinicipia College.

Rountree, who was the Tribune County Player of the Year last year, was named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-conference first team and ranks fourth all time for Principia in points scored and kills in a season.

Former Cuesta baseball players earn academic honors

Former San Luis Obispo High and Cuesta College stars Max Duval and Davey Schultz were both named to the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association all-academic team.

Duval, who had a 3.73 grade-point average, and Schultz, who posted a 3.78, were both named to the 2011 all-Western State Conference first team earlier this year. Duval is now playing for Hawaii.
