The Cal Poly men’s basketball team learned Monday afternoon that it will host Northern Arizona in a BracketBusters game at 7 p.m. on Feb. 19.
The Mustangs (9-11, 4-4 Big West Conference) are 3-4 at Mott Gym this year, including a 2-1 mark against nonconference opponents.
Northern Arizona (11-8, 3-4 Big Sky Conference) is 4-7 on the road. The Lumberjacks are 3-4 away from home against nonconference competition.
Long Beach State (13-10 overall), currently in first in the Big West at 8-2, drew the league’s TV slot, and will host Montana at 8 p.m., also on Feb. 19, on ESPN2.
MEN’S SOCCERMLS at Cal Poly
The Cal Poly men’s soccer program announced it will host a friendly between the San Jose Earthquakes and the defending Major League Soccer Cup champion Colorado Rapids at 7 p.m. March 4 at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
It will mark the third time Cal Poly has hosted an MLS friendly since 2008. It will be the debut at Spanos Stadium for Colorado.
“When it comes to watching professionals do their thing, this event should be a real treat,” Mustangs coach Paul Holocher said in a news release. “The quality of passing and speed of the game at the MLS level is super.”
Pre-sale tickets for the event are $12 for adults, $7 for ages 2 to 13 and 60-and-over, and $5 for Cal Poly students and staff.
Gate prices the night of will increase to $15 for adults and $10 for youth and seniors.
