The Cal Poly women’s basketball team kept rolling on Thursday night, edging UC Santa Barbara 54-51 on the road to stay undefeated in the Big West Conference.
It was the Mustangs’ first win at The Thunderdome since the 2006-07 season.
With its 8-0 start in conference play, Cal Poly (12-8 overall) tied the 2006-07 squad for the program’s longest winning streak since moving to the Division I level prior to the 1994-95 season.
With about 15 seconds left Thursday, Cal Poly senior shooting guard Rachel Clancy sank a running jumper in the lane to provide the three-point advantage, and an ensuing Gauchos shot missed at the buzzer.
