The Cal Poly women’s basketball team was routed at Pepperdine on Monday afternoon, falling 80-45 in Malibu.
The Waves shot 45.8 percent from the floor compared to the Mustangs’ 26.6 percent and also had a 48-35 rebounding advantage.
Pepperdine (7-5) attempted 10 more free throws than the Mustangs, had 19 assists to Cal Poly’s six, and blocked five Mustangs shots while not having any of its own blocked.
Jazmine Jackson led Pepperdine with 16 points, and Robie Mayberry added 15.
Caroline Reeves had 12 points to lead Cal Poly (4-6). Fellow guard Rachel Clancy was held to four points but did grab a game-best 10 rebounds.
Before the game, Clancy was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week.
Last week, the senior from Limerick, Ireland, a former transfer from Duquesne, had 23 points in an 80-55 win over San Francisco and then a career-high 26 points and nine rebounds in a 73-64 win over San Jose State.
