The fight card is set for next week’s Fight for Wrestling fundraiser at Cal Poly

Fight for Wrestling announced its final fight card Thursday headlined by a 135-pound women’s bout between Casey Noland of Atascadero and Jenny Trujillo.

The May 22 event at Cal Poly’s Mott Gym is a fundraiser for the Mustangs’ wrestling team.

Noland grew interested in the sport during her time with then-boyfriend and mixed martial arts icon Chuck Liddell.She graduated from Cal Poly in 1993 and her mother is still an animal science professor at the school.

The other headline attraction features veteran Cruz Gomez (12-8) taking on undefeated prospect Eddie Hoch (6-0).Gomez has been fighting professionally for 12 years, including fighting in the first three WEC events in 2001.

The Mustangs will be well represented on the card as current student Mike Gahan will make his MMA debut against Brett Hypolite and former Cal Poly wrestler Sam Temko will fight Alex Ivanov.

Also fighting is Johnny Hackleman Jr., the son of Liddell’s trainer and owner of The Pit, John Hackleman. Hackleman Jr. (1-0) will fight Aaron Hamilton of Stockton.

Former Cuesta College wrestler Brandon Drucker will fight former three-time NCAA Division I national qualifier T.J. Dillashaw of Sacramento.

Also expected to attend the event are Liddell, former Cal Poly wrestler and current WEC standout Chad Mendes, current UFC fighter Joe “Daddy” Stevenson and former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin “The Monster” Randleman.

Stevenson, originally from Victorville, challenged B.J. Penn for the UFC lightweight championship in 2008, losing via choke after being badly bloodied.

Randleman, a two-time NCAA wrestling champion at Ohio State, is scheduled to face Roger Gracie at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery on Saturday.
