A day after reporting that the football team would play its first-ever Pac-10 opponent, Cal Poly announced it would play six other Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the next four seasons.
Aside from a visit to Tempe for a game against Arizona State in 2015, the Mustangs will play Fresno State twice in four years, including Oct. 2 this year.
“I think this will raise our visibility, both in the community and it also points us in the direction where we want to be,” Cal Poly head coach Tim Walsh said in a release.
The second meeting is scheduled for Sept. 7 2013, with Cal Poly taking on Wyoming, another FBS school, a week later. The Mustangs will contest two FBS games in 2011, including a Sept. 24 game at Northern Illinois.
