Cal Poly junior left-hander Anna Cahn has been selected to the USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List following a sophomore campaign that saw her break several school records.
Cahn, a four-time Big West Pitcher of the Week honoree last season, set program records for victories (28), complete games (30), innings pitched (2522⁄3) and starts (33) en route to being named conference pitcher of the year.
Also proficient at the plate as a designated player when she doesn’t pitch, Cahn, was named to the all-conference team as a utility player following a season in which she hit .338 and drove in 41 runs. She finished third in the Big West with a .443 on-base percentage.
Cahn is the second Cal Poly player in three years to be named to the watch list after former Mustang center fielder Lisa Modglin was named one of 26 finalists in 2007.
