Eight former standout athletes will be inducted into the Cal Poly athletics hall of fame Friday night in Chumash Auditorium. The group also will be recognized during halftime of the Cal Poly football game, scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
The class of inductees includes swimmer Jack Adam, baseball outfielder Tom Beyers, wrestler and coach Lennis Cowell, football players Damone Johnson and Craig Johnston, softball player Lisa Modglin, soccer player Gina Oceguera and track and field/women’s soccer player Sharon Day-Monroe.
The school’s hall of fame includes 123 individuals, a track and field relay quartet and the 1960 football team.
