Cal Poly falls out of football polls

The Cal Poly football team fell out of both FCS polls Monday following its loss to Montana State on Saturday.

The Mustangs have the second most points among the teams left out of the poll in the STATS FCS poll. William & Mary is 25th with 544 points. Lamar has 269, and Cal Poly is next at 183.

In the coaches poll, the Mustangs had the most points of teams outside the poll. Havard is 25th with 62 points, followed by Cal Poly with 25.

Montana State, ranked 15 last week in the media poll, moved up to 11th after its 45-28 home win over Cal Poly.

Cal Poly’s opponent for its home conference opener Saturday, Idaho State, is unranked and did not have any points in either poll.

Eastern Washington is ranked ninth in the media poll, and the Mustangs travel to Cheney on
