Ryan Sluder had two walks, two hits, stole four bases and drove in two runs Sunday in leading the San Luis Obispo Blues to a 12-8 summer collegiate baseball win over the California Expos at SLO Stadium.
Harley Faye had a two-run single in a three-run third inning, and Dustin Williams and John Schuk-necht hit back-to-back triples in the seventh inning to account for three more runs in the nonleague game.
Nigel Ward earned the win for the Blues (14-4) in his first start for the team. He allowed two runs on eight hits in five innings, benefitting from two double plays before turning it over to the bullpen, which gave up six runs in the final four innings.
San Luis Obispo will return to California Collegiate League play on Tuesday with a home game against Santa Paula.
