Mitch Williams and Ryan Long both drove in two runs, and the San Luis Obispo Blues never trailed Thursday in downing the Long Beach Legends 9-2 in a nonleague summer collegiate baseball game at SLO Stadium for their third straight win.
San Luis Obispo (11-4) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, added solo runs in the third, sixth and eighth innings and had a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by Williams' two-run triple.
The Blues started the scoring in the second when Blake Johnson and Jason Adkins both drew bases-loaded walks and Nick King drove in the third run on a fielder's choice.
Korey Anderson pitched 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits with four strikeouts. Four Blues pitchers combined to shut out the Legends over the final 3 1/3 innings.
