The Cal Poly baseball team beat Fresno State 10-6 at Baggett Stadium on Tuesday night to earn its fifth straight victory.
Trailing 5-2 entering the sixth inning, the Mustangs scored five runs behind Mark Mathias, Peter Van Gansen and Brett Barbier doubles.
The Mustangs scored three more runs in the eighth, with two runs coming on a Barbier triple. Barbier finished 4 for 5 with four RBI and a run. Mathias and Van Gansen each had two runs and two RBI, and John Schuknecht had a triple and a run.
Cal Poly (15-18) used six different pitchers, combining for six runs on nine hits and nine strikeouts.

Jackson Gentes pitched a complete game with five strikeouts, five hits, and one run to lead the Cougars (17-14, 12-7 Western State Conference) to a win at home.
San Luis Obispo High graduate Garrett Giovannelli went 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBI, and Dustin Miller went 2 for 2 with two RBI and a run as well to lead Cuesta.
The Cougars moved in to third place in the WSC Northern Division and one game behind leaders Santa Barbara and Oxnard with two weeks until the playoffs.

The Cuesta softball team won both games of its doubleheader via six-inning run rules.
In the first game, Marissa Tabares pitched five innings for Cuesta, allowing one hit with nine strikeouts.
Ami Hood had a solo home run, and Tabares and Chey Hufstetler had two RBI apiece.
In the second game, Savannah Johnson went 5 for 8, with four runs and five RBI, and Hufstetler went 4 for 6 with three runs and five RBI.
Cuesta (12-15, 8-4 Western State Conference) trails second place Ventura by one game in the division race.
