A day after winning in walk-off fashion, the San Luis Obispo Blues fell flat in a summer collegiate baseball league game Thursday at SLO Stadium, losing 18-6 to the Southern California Catch.
The Catch racked up 12 runs in the first four innings, including eight in the fourth, and outhit the Blues 17-8.
San Luis Obispo (36-11, 25-10 California Collegiate League), which used five pitchers, scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the game was well out of reach.
Collin Ferguson was 3 for 5 with three RBI for the Blues, and Austin O’Brien hit a two-run double.

Cooper Emay, whose error at shortstop in the 14th inning of Wednesday’s game allowed the Blues to win, made amends for the Catch by going 5 for 5 and scoring four runs.
