The Santa Barbara Foresters put an emphatic end to the San Luis Obispo Blues’ eight-game winning streak by scoring five runs in the second inning en route to a 10-2 summer collegiate baseball win Tuesday at SLO Stadium.
Collin Ferguson and Zack Zehner both drove in runs in the sixth, and Jacob Hoyle hit a solo homer in the ninth. But it was not enough for the Blues (35-11, 24-10 California Collegiate League), who fell four games behind the Foresters (33-8, 28-6) in the Central Division standings.
Starting pitcher Alec Hansen allowed six runs on five hits and four walks before being pulled in the second inning. Granger Studdard drove in five runs for Santa Barbara.
