SLO Blues' season comes to an end with loss at NBC World Series

In a game that started at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, the San Luis Obispo Blues were eliminated from the National Baseball Congress World Series with a 5-1 loss to Impact Sports of Colorado.

The actual start time was 2:20 a.m. local time in Wichita after the previous game in the tournament was pushed back by a lengthy weather delay.

It was the second loss of the double elimination tournament for the Blues, who were making their first appearance in the postseason event since 2006.

The Blues (35-18) were held to only three hits. Austin Grisham was 2 for 4 with an RBI to lead San Luis Obispo.

Impact Sports totaled eight hits, seven of which came off Blues starter Travis Wilcox, who struck out six but was relieved after 41⁄3 innings and was charged with all five runs.
