Cody Dufrene hit one of his two home runs in the second inning to spark a five-run rally to lift the San Luis Obispo Blues to an 8-4 win over Team Vegas on Tuesday night to open a three-game summer collegiate baseball series at SLO Stadium.
The Blues (32-13, 19-9 California Collegiate League) took a 6-0 lead with Dufrene’s two-run homer in the second. He also hit a solo homer in the third to make it a 7-1 lead, putting San Luis Obispo in control.
Team Vegas scored three runs in the top of the ninth, when the Blues used three different pitchers.
Kory Delange started for San Luis Obispo, pitching seven sharp innings with seven strikeouts and giving up only three hits and one run.

Tanner Witt went 3 for 5 with two runs scored, and Austin Grisham, Taylor Anderson and Brandon Carr each finished with two hits apiece to contribute to the Blues’ 12 hits.
Grisham also had three RBI.
The Blues, who are leading the CCL, will wrap up league play with home games against Team Vegas tonight and Thursday before hosting the San Luis Obispo Rattlers with a three-game nonleague series starting Friday.
NEPTUNE BEACH PEARL 11, SLO RATTLERS 1
The Rattlers (33-18) scored their lone run in the top of the ninth inning but not before giving up 12 hits and committing two errors in the road loss at the College of Alameda.
The Pearl took a 4-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back, scoring seven more runs the rest of the way. Clay Williamson picked up two doubles and a triple to lead Neptune Beach’s offensive attack.
Marc Flores was one of the Rattlers’ few bright spots as he finished 2 for 4 with a double. Charlie Sharrer drove in San Luis Obispo’s only run.
