The San Luis Obispo Blues wrapped up regular-season play with a 7-4 nonleague summer collegiate baseball win over the Pacific Union Financial Capitalists on Wednesday at SLO Stadium.
The Blues (32-14) overcame a 3-1 third-inning deficit to tie the score at 3, and then took command with four runs in the bottom of the seventh on five walks, a hit batter and a Garrett Ball single.
In the third, the Blues scored a pair of runs when Ryan Sluder led off with a double and later scored in a passed ball to pull San Luis Obispo within 3-2. Tanner Gardner's sacrifice fly later in the inning tied the score at 3 and it stayed that way until the decisive seventh inning.
The Blues will host the California Collegiate League four-team tournament beginning Friday. San Luis Obispo, the third seed, will play the Neptune Beach Pearl at 6 p.m. The tournament runs throughout the weekend at SLO Stadium.
