For just the second time in 43 games this season, the San Luis Obispo Blues were shut out Sunday afternoon, losing 5-0 to the Santa Barbara Foresters in the Blues' California Collegiate League regular season finale.
The Blues (29-14, 14-12 CCL) were swept in the two-game series.
Cal Poly catcher Brett Barbier had two hits, including a double early in the game, but the rest of the Blues had only three hits combined against the Foresters (34-7, 23-4 CCL).
Blues pitcher Brenden Nail (Western Carolina) took the loss after giving up two earned runs on seven hits during five innings of work.

There are no more league games left for the fourth-place Blues, but the team is still in position to make the CCL tournament, which begins Friday, July 31, at Sinsheimer Stadium.
The Blues host the Pacific Union Financial Capitalists for a three game non-CCL series, with a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 4 p.m.
