The San Luis Obispo Blues scored their most runs since June 16 with a 14-4 summer collegiate baseball win over the South Bay Saints on Thursday at SLO Stadium.
The score was tied entering the fifth inning of the nonleague contest before the Blues (28-12) erupted for six runs in the bottom of the inning to take control.
Blake Johnson had a two-run single, and Nick King doubled and scored in the fifth for the Blues, who had nine players record a hit in the contest.
Johnson, Cal Poly's Brett Barbier and Quin Walbergh all had two hits for San Luis Obispo.
Jacob Patterson gave up three runs on six hits and struck out six in six innings to earn his second win of the season. Bryan Simmons pitched scoreless seventh and eighth innings before Adam Atkins finished it out in the ninth.
