Arroyo Grande High’s Talley Hill won the girls sophomore race at the Mt. Carmel Invitational on Saturday.
Hill finished the 2.75-mile course at Balboa Park in San Diego in 16 minutes, 10 seconds, topping San Marcos’ Paige Carter (16:35). Arroyo Grande’s Haley Chavez was third in 16:40 and Rosa Granados was sixth in 16:56.
Leza Cassidy finished fourth in the junior race, in a time of 16:24, and Angela Gemignani was sixth in 17:00.
In the senior race, Jocelyn Reynolds finished 13th in 16:45.
Bryanna Fuller of Rancho Bernardo won the race in a time of 15:38.
Simon Malia was fourth in the freshman race at 17:20, and Katie Howell was 11th in 18:17.
On the boys side, the Eagles’ Christian Ricketts won the sophomore race in 15:52, and Luis Jazo took fifth in the freshman race in 16:53.
In the junior race, Jacob Emeterio was 34th in 17:08, and in the senior race, Joey Rodgers was 44th in 16:47.
In the girls small team 3-mile race, Atascadero had a strong showing with two finishers in the top five. Brittni Frace finished third overall in 19:50 and Ellie Nisbet was fifth (20:00).
For Nipomo, Taylor Witcher finished fourth (19:51) and freshman Mackenzie Wisneski finished ninth in 20:29. San Luis Obispo’s Malea Martin finished seventh in 20:11. Shannon McClish of Morro Bay was 12th (20:47). Alyssa Caldera was Mission Prep’s top finisher, finishing 30th with a time of 22:02.
In the boys small team race, also on a 3-mile course, San Luis Obispo finished first and second. William Ernst won the race in 15:35, and Callum Bolger finished second (15:52).
Austin Lay of Morro Bay was third in 16:10. Nipomo’s Rogelio Flores was ninth at 16:42.
Daniel Tull was the top finisher for Atascadero, finishing 11th (16:44). Mission Prep’s Scott Scharlach was 47th with a time of 18:11.
No team scores were kept.
