The Los Angeles Brewers scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a one-run lead, then held on for a 5-4 summer collegiate baseball victory over the host San Luis Obispo Blues on Saturday at SLO Stadium.
The Brewers overcame a two-run home run from San Luis Obispo catcher Daniel Garner in the bottom of the fifth that tied the score at 3.
Mike Pritchard and Kyle Johnson added two hits apiece for San Luis Obispo, which fell to 34-15 overall and 18-13 in the California Collegiate League.
Pritchard and Nick Flair knocked in the other runs for the Blues, who committed three errors.
The Blues took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth, when Cody Jones scored on a sacrifice fly by Flair.
Will Maddox drew a leadoff walk and stole second in the ninth, giving the Blues the potential tying run at second base, but Pritchard struck out to end the game.
