Prep Roundup: Arroyo Grande, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo roll to boys water polo wins

Taylor Ross, Hissan el-Essendi, Jack Empey and Brock Johnson scored two goals each as Arroyo Grande (3-1, 2-0) downed Atascadero 14-1 on Tuesday in a PAC 7 boys water polo game.for the Eagles in their win over the Greyhounds.

Paso Robles 4, St. Joseph 2

Ben Nagengast had nine saves in goal to lead the Bearcats (4-4, 1-1 PAC 7) past the Knights.

Mason Keller had two goals, and brothers Collin and Morgan Moore each scored one for Paso Robles.

San Luis Obispo 25, Pioneer Valley 7

Chase Andersen scored seven goals to lead the Tigers (6-3, 2-0 PAC 7) past the Panthers. Nick Bea and Emerson Trout scored four goals apiece for the Tigers.


San Luis Obispo 13, Paso Robles 5

The doubles team of Lauren Hutkin and Joelle Lewis won 6-1, 6-2, 6-0 as the Tigers (4-3, 3-0 PAC 7) swept doubles to beat the Bearcats.

Arroyo Grande 16, Atascadero 2

The doubles team of Christa Osumi and Chelsea Pudwill led Arroyo Grande (6-1, 4-0 PAC 7), sweeping 6-0, 6-1, 6-1.

The doubles team of Alexis Flood and Zoe Miller won 6-2, 6-4, 6-0. Sophie Whittle also swept her two sets 6-0, 6-0.Amber Petersen won two of her three sets for the Greyhounds (2-3, 0-3).

Santa Maria 15, Nipomo 3

The doubles team of Kelly Springford and Gianna Abatti won two of three sets for Nipomo (0-5, 0-3 LPL).

Morro Bay 11, Coast Union 7

The Pirates (2-4) defeated the Broncos (1-5) behind the doubles team of Claire Vogel and Skye Schwellenbach, which swept 6-1, 6-3, 6-2.Coast Union’s Alex Zaragoza swept 6-0, 6-1, 6-3.

Desiree Gillaspy of the Knights and Nora Zakaria of the Tigers (4-0), each shot a 4-over 39 to medal on the front nine at Dairy Creek Golf Course.

Sam Tsau shot a 42, Neha Sikand shot a 44 and Sam Lopez added a 45 for San Luis Obispo.

The Eagles (6-0, 2-0 PAC 7) set a team record for lowest team score on the front nine at Cypress Ridge.

Arroyo Grande’s Breana Garcia was the medalist with a personal best 4-over 40. Anna Zhang shot a 43, Emma Fuhs shot a 47 and Tessa Oates and Megan Donegan both shot a 48 for the Eagles.

Righetti 251, Paso Robles 281

Medalist Melanie Johnson of Righetti shot a 5-over 41 on the front nine of the Paso Robles Country Club to lead the Warriors in the PAC 7 match.

Michaela Howard shot a 50 to lead the Bearcats (0-3, 0-2). Carly McCall shot a 55, and Jaclyn Callahan shot a 57.
