The San Luis Obispo Blues scored three runs on four hits in the third inning to break open their summer collegiate baseball game, and the Blues went on to win 5-2 over the Neptune Beach Pearl on Monday night at SLO Stadium.
Daniel Mengden came in to pitch the ninth inning and struck out two to pick up the save after John Tiedemann and Parker Ray each pitched four innings. Tiedemann, the starter, allowed four hits and two runs, while Ray finished with six strikeouts.
Keegan Dale, Matt Shortall and Tanner Donnels each finished with two hits for the Blues (19-10).
San Luis Obispo increased a 2-1 lead in the third with three runs to make it 5-2.
