The San Luis Obispo Blues scored four runs in the sixth inning to break open a close game and win their eighth game in a row, 7-3 over Top Speed Baseball at SLO Stadium on Sunday.
Daniel Mengden was 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base, Tanner Witt was 2 for 5 with a run, Matt Shortall was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBI, and Will Maddox was 1 for 3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI for the Blues (11-4).
Sean Mullen allowed a run in two hitless innings in relief of starter Adam Frank. Mullen walked five and struck out three in earning the win.

Former Cal Poly outfielder Mitch Haniger, who was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 38th overall selection earlier this month, signed a contract Thursday with the Brewers worth $1.2 million.
Haniger, who was the Big West Conference Player of the Year and a second-team All-American after hitting .346 with 13 homers and 64 RBI this season, has been assigned to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Low-A Midwest League.
