Nipomo's football team held to a field goal in loss to Santa Ynez

Nipomo's offense was stifled Friday night in a 21-3 prep football loss to Santa Ynez.

Nipomo (2-5, 2-2) managed only 146 yards of total offense and seven first downs in the Los Padres League home loss.

The lone Titans' points came on a Taylor Apetz 20-yard field goal in the second half to cut the Pirates' lead down to 14-3.

Chris Souza led the Titans with 63 rushing yards and 20 passing yards, but threw a fourth-quarter interception that was returned for a touchdown to seal Nipomo's fate.
