Blues lose before record crowd in Marysville

The San Luis Obispo Blues dropped an 8-4 decision to the Marysville Gold Sox on Saturday in front of a record-high crowd of 3,801 at Appeal-Democrat Park in Marysville on Fireworks Night.

Logan Todd picked up the win for Marysville (17-6), allowing three runs on nine hits in 72⁄3 innings while striking out five and walking none. Todd threw 103 pitches for the Gold Sox while no one on the Blues threw even as many as 50.

Justin Lindsey (1-1) took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in 22⁄3 innings.A.J. Robinson and Andrew Collazo had two hits apiece for the Blues (16-9), while Ryan Aguayo, Matt Juengel and Rafael Neda had a hit and an RBI each.

The Blues, who are in the process of playing 16 games in 16 days, will play the Gold Sox at 7 this evening in the finale of a two-game series.

MLB Urban Academy 9, San Luis Obispo Rattlers 4Daniel Howell hit a two-run double to give the Rattlers a brief 3-2 lead early but the Barons scored six late runs to pull away for the road win.

Marc Damon took the loss for the Rattlers (9-16, 3-15 CCL).

The Rattlers will host MLB Academy at 1 this afternoon in game two of a three-game series at SLO Stadium.
