MUSKOGEE, Okla.— Jared Lintner achieved one goal here Saturday in the final regular season Bassmaster Elite tournament at Fort Gibson Lake.
He placed 40th with a limit weighing 11 pounds, 13 ounces and a three-day total weight of 37-10 for 14 fish. His earnings totaled $41,500, which is $1,500 more than the entry fee.
However, he will come up short with respect to qualifying for the 2011 Bassmaster Classic. His point total for the season is 1,513. Elite anglers need to finish among the top 37 for Classic qualification. Where Lintner will finish will not be determined until after Sunday’s final competition, but it will not be in the top 37
Fourteen anglers who failed to survive the first cut Friday had accumulated enough points for Classic qualification. Another 14 who did not advance to the finals Saturday also have sufficient points to earn a Classic berth.
Three of the 12 finalists cannot score enough points to earn a Classic berth. But, the nine other finalists will earn between 254 and 315 points depending upon where they finish in the competition. Wherever they place they will be among the 37.
