TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Tim Lopes scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning, leading the Tacoma Rainiers to a 3-1 win over the Nashville Sounds on Monday.
The play, part of a two-run inning, gave the Rainiers a 2-1 lead before Jaycob Brugman hit an RBI double later in the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, Tacoma broke a scoreless tie on a double by Billy Cooke that scored Kelby Tomlinson. Nashville answered in the eighth inning when Tyler Pill got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Andy Ibanez.
Dan Altavilla (1-0) got the win in relief while Reed Garrett (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
For the Sounds, Ibanez doubled and singled.
