Democratic convention was star-studded

What do the following people have in common: America Ferrera, Lena Dunham, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Eva Longoria, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Paul Simon and Meryl Streep?

All were on-site speakers or entertainers at the Democratic National Convention. Brian Cranston, Susan Sarandon and Elizabeth Banks were attendees.

Compare that with Scott Baio, Antonio Sabato Jr., Willie Robertson and Natalie Gulbis, who were speakers at the Republican National Convention.

To be fair, Kid Rock played at an off-site event during the convention — although I think he has been reduced to playing at off-site venues most of the time, and this might have been a coincidence.

The good news for me, personally? Before the Republican convention, I didn’t even know who Baio, Sabato and Roberston were. In the case of Sabato, I’m still not sure who he is or why I should care.
