San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow doesn’t get it.

After the Orlando massacre, he wrote on his Facebook page that “The NRA and the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution are no more responsible for gun violence or other terror attacks in our country than the ACLU, the Press, and the First Amendment are responsible for the klan, other hate speech or discrimination in our country!”

He goes on to say: “How about the burger and donut industry being responsible for obesity and heart disease? PEOPLE are and must be held responsible for their actions!”

Comparing a killer with an assault weapon that he owns because of lax gun laws to obesity caused by fast food is shameless.

Not a word of sympathy for the victims of this senseless hate crime.

And doesn’t he realize that no civilian needs to own an assault weapon? These are weapons of war, not suitable for any proper sporting use. Dow should be ashamed — and replaced.
