Paso Robles wineries make billions while lives of others — oak trees — are sacrificed

North County residents are concerned about a massive removal of oak trees north of Highway 46 West to make way for a vineyard. A stop-work order has been issued by the county to Estate Vineyards LLC.

Bravo to Joe Tarica on his column, “Nothing wonderful about bulldozing Paso oaks“ (June 12).

It is about time that someone brought to light what has been happening in the North County for a long time. FINALLY, via facts and photos, the general public will be informed on what seems to have been kept secret from so many for so long. How many BILLIONS of dollars does one family need as the lives of others are sacrificed? Joe’s article may be the wake-up call the North County needs.
