How can the darling town of Templeton be so irresponsible? During this year of extreme drought, with a fire last weekend in Santa Margarita burning 1,800 acres, two homes, four mobile homes, two RVs and costing $3.5 million dollars, Templeton continues to sell what they refer to as “safe fireworks.”
When contacted, their reasoning was, “We have done this for years, and it benefits nonprofits in the community.”
All it takes is one 12-year-old with a sparkler and we could have a repeat of the Highway 41 fire. There is a reason no other communities allow firework sales.
Please contact Jeff Briltz, Templeton Community Services District, at 805-434-4900 to voice your concern.
