Well, let’s see: If the proposed Cal Poly master plan comes to fruition, San Luis Obispo might not have to worry about students drinking downtown, or their parents scrambling to stay close to the campus — and would that eliminate the need to have the San Luis Obispo police and fire departments take care of the campus as well?
Oh yes, and another conference center. Forget that the Madonna Inn site offers a lot in that regard, as do other smaller venues, and the list goes on and on.
I would not be at all surprised if Cal Poly were to move to be its own city. And perhaps that would be the answer.
Then San Luis Obispo could truly be the happiest city in the United States, as it would not need to worry about rowdy students, sexual assaults on campus and roofs falling down from holding drunken students. That would be their problem!
Perhaps we should ask them to hurry up with this, so that the adults in San Luis Obispo might take back their city!
