I am not a big fan of the direction of the current negotiations with Iran.
I think no matter what is said, the Iranians cannot be trusted. It has been the restrictions on their economy that have forced the negotiations. Giving up those restrictions too soon is giving up leverage on their behavior.
That being said, if it is inevitable that there will be a deal, I suggest there is one thing that our government could do that would send a clear message to the Iranians about not developing a nuclear weapon and at the same time assure the Israelis of our support. Establish U.S. military bases in Israel.
It is not unusual for us to station troops in countries that remain as allies.
