Regarding “Shame water hogs,” an April 11 letter to the editor by Jeri Luther: The biggest offenders in North County are the vineyards. There are about 50 acres of commercial vines growing over my back fence and sprinklers come on repeatedly morning, noon and night. Very frustrating when we don’t even flush our toilets until necessary. It is a slap in the face to us who try to conserve. It seems vineyard owners somehow feel entitled and place themselves in the chosen few category!
